Frequently Asked Questions

What is the season for the tours?

The stargazing season has started as early as March and ended as late as November. Of course, this is weather dependent.

What time do the tours begin?

We can generally begin observing one hour after sunset. This can vary by several hours throughout the season. From as early as 7:30 PM to as late as 10 PM around the longest days of the year. This can be delayed at times depending on the weather.

What time do we arrive?

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the program. Plan your travel time accordingly. Late arrivals are very disruptive to those in attendance.

What do we do if the weather doesn’t cooperate the night of the tour?

The weather can be very difficult to predict at times. I watch several forecasts and will do my best to notify you of cancellations at least 24 hours ahead of the tour. If a cancelation occurs, your ticket will be good for the the next night's tour. If you are unable to attend the following night, a refund will be issued minus the processing fee.

Are restrooms available?

Yes, there are portable toilets available.

Is the site handicap accessible?

We have handicapped parking available near the seating area.

What do we need to bring?

There is bench seating available. You may want to bring folding camp chairs, binoculars, flashlight for walking from the parking area to the program area. Please be prepared for cold temperatures or damp conditions. Even in the summer, temperatures at 2200 feet in elevation will feel very cold at night.

Can we bring our dog?

Only service animals are permitted due to the nature of the programs and concern for other guests.

Are alcoholic beverages allowed?

Alcohol and drugs are NOT permitted on our private property. You will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.

Are we allowed to set up our private telescope and camera?

Yes, you may set up your own equipment to the rear of the seating area. Flash photography is prohibited.

Are we allowed to observe in the program area after the tour?

Yes, you're welcome to stay as long as you want after the tour.
